GREEN

Green is a beautiful color! In nature, the grass that you walk on is green and the leaves that you see on trees are usually green. Most of the plants that you see are green, too! Frogs are green and many grasshoppers are green, too. Turtles are different shades of green.

 

Did you know that you can make green paint by mixing blue and yellow? Because you can make green by mixing two primary colors, it is called a secondary color. Green is also the name used to describe the movement to make products that do not harm the Earth. Green products are often those made from recycled materials or those that are safe to throw out in the trash.

 Can you hepl your learn more about families. talt to your child about families in the united states or your country of origin. you may give information about :
 - where families live
 - who is in a family

 Also discuss diferent types of families. who was part of your familiy when you were a child? this will help your child understand that families have been around and will always be here.

 As part of this unit , your child will share pictures of stores. you can help by talking to your child about different stores. talk to your child about what is sold in various kinds of stores.

 Students will write about family members. you can help your child come up with ideas by talking about :

 Different things family members have taught him or her
how he or she would describe family gatherings

 At the end of this unit. your child will work on assignments for a listening andspeaking workshop and a writing workshop. these workshops will help your child practice his or  her listening, speaking and writing skills. then your child will work alone or with other students on a project. your child may need to use the internet or find child to read books about families . ask your child to talk about the projects and the additional reading he or she is doing.
